Thanks Loki. That gives me some things to check.

I remember those items in the manual, but only glanced at it and it lives on the boat... where I am not. Sounds Like I need to watch it under load and then consider adjustments.

Heart Interface Voltage Low.

110 volts output when on shore power. Plenty of power up to 20 amps out. New batteries, so the input 12v side is running 12.5-13v. All connections well cleaned. The output voltage, on inverter, even at very light load is 100V. My microwave does not like this, though other equipment does not seem to ...

Clever Solutions!

I like both of those thoughts. In reality, I doubt I will go anywhere with the project until I sail her for a season to understand her better, and then lay her up on the hard and stare at her for a while up close... and perhaps with the $10 camera!

[*]Ask you you post with a more positive outlook.
[*]Substitute my own reality.
[*]Gripe.
[*]Wait until the boat comes out in the fall for paint. Procrastination is always a favorite.

Interesting. Now that I think about it, the 32 has some...

unused spaces, particularly the port side of the cockpit locker. I put tools in the middle, I bet another battery would slide in there. I'll have to see how the 3 new 27s do - my voltage jumped up ~ 0.7 volts, both at full charge with a brief load period to knock off any superficial charge. They wer...

Lubrication of Morse control cables

Is there a simplyfied method of lubricating the cables, short of disassymbling the binicle? The factory manual simply says "clean and lubricate... but how? No the double controls, this looks involved. Yet, they are running fine and I would like to tend to them while that is still the case!

Re: Larger Batteries

Group 27s fit fine. Nex time I'll measure for larger?

But I'm not going as far as Page 38; he's got a whole sub-station wedged in there! I wish my house had that much power.

Agreed, but unless the mast is flexible...

oes it matter I sailed a fair bit, but don't consider myself an expert on sail trim. This said, a simple multi purchase vang that need not be rigid can control twist off the wind where I've observed my boom lift and the top of the sail open up too much for my liking. We sail hull 36068 with the trav...

Larger Batteries

I know I read that someone (Page 83?) went from group 24s to group 27s.

How did that go?

Thanks for all the tips!

Today I found myself trying to come back in in SOLID small craft advisory conditions, with wind in the 30s.... and 3 dead batteries. There are so many fun toys for the kids to turn on, and I need new batteries. But as a result of tips from the forum: * tip the engines up just a little * I made up a ...

If you put a knot in the topping lift at the right point ...

it will keep the boom off the hard top and cells. The boom will still swing around a good bit. I've sailed cats of different sizes and types for many years, and I can't see a vang for twist control. Without a flexible mast, the traveler does the same thing. With a flexible mast, however, that is som...

Well, that is what the article said...

That sure looks like the output of a Velocity Prediction Program (VPP); I'd be willing to bet on on it. It may be that the magazine verified that the results are reasonable, but I can't believe they actually collected all of the data points reflected in the report. Also, the equivalent report for t...

Sewn-on composite hull fittings

I am thinking of adding a fixed bowsprit to my PDQ 32, but getting to the inside of the bow to attach bolts for any sort of pad eye looks like agony, particularly as I try to get it as far forward as possible to minimize the bending load on the front beam. How about this approach, sewing a fitting, ...
