Re: light displacement
I spent a fair amount of time earlier this summer verifying some of the statistical information assoociated with PDQ 36 - Capellas in particular. I verified with our new/old friends at "Antares" that the 10,000 lbs (Outboards) and 10,700 lbs (LRC) figures are correct for the Capella models...

Re: Sail area
I have been unsuccessfully attempting to determine sail area as well. The manual is not accurate - seems to be a combination of stats from both Antares and Capella models. I tried our friends at "Antares" who referred me to Ray at Triton Sails who promised to get back to me but never did. ...

Re: Honda EU2000i Generator Connection
Terry,
I appreciate the information! One question - I was wondering whether or not the the 15 amp is adequate given you are connecting to a 20 amp receptacle?

Honda EU2000i Generator Connection
Is there a cable that allows you to connect a single eu2000i generator to the 30amp shore power receptacle using the shore power cable? I can't seem to find one on the internet! All thoughts appreciated!

Re: Main Sail Handling
Dave, My understanding is that the Doyle system needs to be sewn into the foot of the sail. Did you add the system to an existing sail or were they purchased as a unit? Does the integration of sail and cover present any special issues? Thanks! Doug, How is the Mack Pack fitted to the boom? Do you no...

Main Sail Handling
Does anyone have any experience with retrofitting their existing main sail with a combination lazy jack/boom fitted main sail cover such as the Doyle Stack Pack, Mack Pack or other such systems? Thanks!

Battery Equalization
I'm looking for member experiences with "equalizing" wet cell batteries. On the one hand I understand that equalizing on a regular basis (not sure what regular is?) will extend battery life and improve performance. On the other I read about the potential for gasing and explosion concerns, ...

Re: "No Fix" with Raytheon RL70 Chartplotter
Sounds like a 125 replacement is the way to go! Any recommendations on where to purchase? Cost?
Dan, please elaborate on the "tricky" aspects of the 125 replacement process?
Thanks!

"No Fix" with Raytheon RL70 Chartplotter
Has anyone experienced repeated "No Fix" messages using a Raytheon Chartplotter? The unit sometimes works perfectly. At other times the "No Fix" message appears almost continuously. Installation and grounding appear correct. I'm not aware of any radar insallations nearby. The rad...

Round up?
A couple of weekends ago while out sailing in open water with full sails on a broad reach in 20 kt winds gusting to 25-28 kts (true) and 3-5 foot seas when I experienced something I did not think was possible in a multihull - during one gust she began to round up, not in a big way mind you but the e...
