hi,
i believe they were attached with 5200 or equivalent. some, like the engine, have screw holes while others like the anchor locker are just glued.

Re: Fuel Polisshing?
terry points out one of the big dilemmas of fuel. starting with an unknown or perhaps bad situation what do you do. biocides will kill the critters but don't dispose of the bodies. your tank becomes a septic tank with the bodies decaying in a layer of acid which by the way doesn't play well with alu...

Re: Fuel Polisshing?
you may want to try startron. based on tests i've read it will, over time, "dissolve" the goop. they also make a tank clean "shock treatment" which will loosen dirt in tank. we have used both. we have used startron faithfully for 6 years/ 2000 hrs. have to say fuel has been clean...

Re: Fuel Polisshing?
i agree with ron....use it. steve d'antonio wrote a good article a couple of years ago in passagemaker magazine about fuel polishing. it's not as simple as circulating the fuel.

Re: impeller removal
hi john,
i think the bigger problem is the backlog of spare parts inventory on the shelves which don't have the threads. i know a couple of boats which came with the threaded impellers but found it difficult to find spares with threads.

"My next challenge is to replace the engine raw water impellers (someday)! I actually had the starbd engine pump cover off but was unable to remove the impeller. I now have a special pair of bent pliers (Yanmar Impeller Puller) from Bay Shore Marine ($40) which I hope will do the job. hi chet, ...

Re: St. Michaels, Maryland Anchorage or Dockage on San Domingo C
we stopped there about 3 years ago in our 34. 3' was no problem and we went almost all the way in. there is a sand bar on the port side way in that is exposed at low tide. tide is minimal except if strong wind from the north. we spent 3 nights waiting out a strong front. wind protection is very good...

Re: Cooling Circuit
ok, big difference. we have 2600 hrs/20K+ mi. i spoke to the trans cooler guy at annapolis a couple of years back. he said replace around 500+ hrs. we've obviously gone well beyond that and i chalk it up to moving the boat. soooo......how are you going to use your boat...do you fell lucky punk.....b...

Re: Cooling Circuit
hi,
are you talking about the pipe that connects raw water pump to the "cigar" shaped trans cooler? if so, we have hull #23 and have not seen this particular problem. we definetly see more signs of corrosion in general on our starboard engine.
have you seen it on both engines or just one?

Re: Cutlass Bearing Replacement
hi chet, i replaced ours 2 years ago. i believe they are a size called "BITE", but not sure. all our pdq info is on boat in fl. roger can probably tell you. i did it with the shaft in place. as ron said, first pull the props and any line cutters. then remove the 2 or 3 allen screws or bolt...

Re: Crack in upper casing
hi evan,
we had this exact problem 15 years ago. generally, it's cosmetic although if it gets bad enough you'll start to get exhaust coming out. we replaced the housing.
good luck,

Re: Diesel leak when filling
"I had to drain water out of the Racor bowls and on-engine filter several times a day during the trip, more when it was rough." this strikes me as a LOT of water that probably didn't come from condensation. if it were condensation alone, then many pdq's would be having major water problems...

hi kent,
don't know 41 but based on 34 there are: 1) vent with overflow preventer. fuel will froth in here even when not a complete refill 2) fuel guage sender 3) fuel transfer pump (not sure 41 has this).
