Single line reefing configuration

All,

At the end of the season last fall, I managed to pull the reefing lines through the boom on my 36. So I have to figure out how to rig them again. Does anyone recall how to do this, or better yet, does anyone have a diagram or drawing?

Thanks,
Brendan

Re: New Sails

Hi Chet, 2 things: First, I had Ron at Triton make me an Asymmetrical spin the year before last. I'm happy with the result, but I must say he was extremely slow. I ordered it in November to be sure I'd have it for spring, but I didn't get it until late July. It was one of those things where I'd leav...

Re: New Sails

Well..... the main was $3500 and the jib was about $3000. They would have been considerably cheaper if I had not chosen the UK Tape Drive technology. But the shape and rigidity of the new sails are pretty great, and I'm very happy with them. Dave Calvert was also easy to work with, and he's sort of ...

Re: New Sails

Hi Tom,

Last year I got new sails. I used Dave Calvert's loft down in Florida. At the time he was associated with UK sails. He's since gone on his own. My sails are the UK Tape Drive series. They were quite expensive, but my boat is considerably faster on all points of sail.

Sam, I'm running the Mac Mini from AC, although I've been meaning to look at the 12v options, since it's much more efficient. There's a whole subculture of guys doing mods to the mac mini out there. I've seen forums on the web with guys doing in-dash mounts on cars, etc. So I know there are mods ava...

Jeff, My setup is nearly the same as Tom posted above. The LCD flat panel is on a small stand and sits on the starboard setee ledge, between the stainless coachroof supports. The stand is not bolted down in any way. I'm on a mooring all summer and the TV has never fallen when boats pass or anything....

Jaap,
Can you contact me by private message? I have some work to do on my PDQ in Chicago, and I'm interested in the possibility of having someone who was at PDQ do it, if that's feasible.
Thanks

Hi Tex, We put the boat on the hard in November and it's been such bad weather here that we really haven't been able to look at it. Since obviously, fuel only leaks when the engine is running, we're going to wait a couple more months before we dig in and try to pinpoint the problem. So, in short, th...

Sandy, Yeah, the new Raytheon radar cable I installed was much bigger than the old one as well. I tried to use a fishtape and pull it through without dropping the mast, but that was a total &*%#ing failure (much frustration). I pulled the stick, then ran the cable from the navstation through the...

Thanks Phil, Yeah, the windy city is particularly ugly this winter. Already snow piled everywhere. Thanks for the advice. It looks like I can wire the windlass to the house bank (which is under the port settee on my boat). That way I can avoid trying to get that 0 gauge through the wire chase. I'll ...

Chris,

I'm really glad to learn about that hidden tunnel. I suspected there was something over there, but I never found it. That may come in handy when I do some work this spring.
Thanks.

Sandy, I did exactly this last year and it's certainly a pain, but I don't know an easy way around it. Use a cheap hand held multimeter and chase down the wire ends. Then flip circuit breakers while testing voltages to make sure you know exactly what you're cutting before you snip. Obviously, the ra...

Sandy,
Do you mean that the windlass runs off the house battery bank?
