Thanks

Re: replace the 9.9s
Cat Tales you are right i misread the sheet, it has a model no for the 30" shaft but its not offered. I tried to post the model sheet but apparently the forum does not allow .pdf files. I posted a photo of steel sails instead. That didn't work either. ".jpeg" What files can we post? r...

Re: speed polar plot on PDQ36.com
Steel Sails can carry the spinnaker ( about 760 sq ft ) to about 20 knots, though the sail may not take it. Stripped down for racing we made 13 knots on the gps with wind in the 18-20 knots range. Blew the spinnaker about an hour later in a gust.

Re: Sail area
Steel sails has just been rated a 144 though i do not have the standard sails, I carry a screacher on a bowsprit and also fly the spinnaker from this. if you send me an email address i'll send you a copy of the rating cert which includes sail size. I believe steel sails main and jib are standard rgd...

light displacement
The PDQ manual shows a displacement of 10,000 lbs with the outboards and 10,700lbs with the diesels. Many of the vessels currently for sale and some of the multi hull web sites show a light displacement ( empty weight ) of 8000 lbs. I am not sure steel sails would even float if i loaded 2700 lbs in ...

Water in aft lockers
Both my aft lockers ( steering quadrant and propane locker) hold water, the drain with the small fairing on side isn't low enough to enable the water to completely empty. They are always full of water because the hoses that drain the hatch seal are not large enough and they block with a minimal amou...

cable ends
Be real carefull you don't drop one. I did!, it dissapeared into the motor casing and i had to remove the motor to get it out. turned out to be one of those never ending jobs. Ended up replacing all the cables as well.
