Does anyone know who makes this faucet that's in the galley of my 2001 36? It's a bit unusual because of the horizontal mounting, and I can't seem to find one on the web. Mine is leaking and I'd like to replace it.
Thanks

Re: A new mainsail for a 32 - questions
Hey Kevin, Funny you should mention this. I'm currently getting ready to replace the main on the Florida boat. 1. Regarding sailmakers, I went with UK in Chicago a few years ago for the Anne Z. The Considine brothers there are very cool and very pro. I think I know who you're talking about in Chicag...

Re: Propane System and Excel H2O Heater
I think James has a good point, despite the elegance of Jim's setup. Another reason to consider the outside holding tank compartment and just flipping the hatch when showering.

Re: Propane System and Excel H2O Heater
The "short navy showers" Jim mentioned remind me of when I first installed got Cat Tales and was super excited about the Excel. My 16 year old niece came to visit me and stayed on the boat. I told her not to worry, this isn't like other boats, it has as much hot water as you like. Well, sh...

Re: Insurance
Bob, I pay $1200/yr for the Anne Z in Chicago and $3200/yr for Cat Tales in Punta Gorda (with $10K named storm deductible). That's from Progressive through USAA. So about the same as you. I got a quote a couple months ago from Sam Densler's guy in Florida, but Sam got grandfathered into a pre-hurric...

Re: Propane System and Excel H2O Heater
Joe, You can definitely mount the Excel in the holding tank compartment. Mine is in there on Cat Tales. But a couple caveats. First, it will throw off some heat. When it does, the heater has an automatic shut off that will trigger. Mine has a 4" vent hose (like a dryer vent hose) with an intern...

Rear lazarette latch
Y'all,
I managed to step on the rear lazarette when it wasn't completely closed and broke this thing. Anyone know where to get one? Thanks Here's a pic:

Great. I'll box it up today and get the shipping estimate from UPS. Paypal is fine. I'll send you a pm with the info.

Spinnaker sock - free to good home
Hey kids,
I have this spinnaker sock for my PDQ 36 standard rig. I ended up getting an ATN sock because it's a little easier to use. But this one is in perfect shape. You want it, it's yours. Just pay the shipping.

Re: Hammock Locations
I do something completely different. At anchor (as long as it's calm) I string a hammock between the hulls of my 36 at the bow. There are the stainless bow plates that protect the front of each hull. Each one has a ring welded into it. String the hammock between these and relax with your butt about ...

On mine there were a couple spacers near every screw, but also some that seemed to be almost randomly placed.

Re: Job Report: Rebedding wraparound windows
I agree with Tom on the masking. That said, if you do get the Sikaflex on something smooth ( like the smooth parts of the deck or the inside floor), it can actually be easier to remove once it's dried. It becomes a rubbery substance that can be pulled off in a single piece. Very different from somet...

Re: Mast Splice
Joe, Judging from the picture, you also have the Tides Marine sail track system installed on that mast, which is a nice addition. It makes getting the main up and down much easier since friction is reduced. It would cost a few hundred bucks top install yourself and is really necessary for the tall r...

Re: Mast Splice
Joe, You almost certainly have the tall rig. My Florida boat has the tall rig and the Chicago boat has the standard rig. The tall rig measures about 54.5 feet off the water. Just tie a cheap line to the halyard and measure. The tall rig is great for light winds, but you need to reef early in heavy s...
