Re: Holding tank questions
I just heard a trick on CruiseHeimers Tech Net (8152 USB around 9AM on Wed. & sun.) for keeping odor down. Try Oxi-Clean powder in the tank. About 1 scoop per 10 gal. of capacity. Cheap and effective according to the source.

Bristol & Wickford RI Anchoring
We are looking to anchor in Wickford RI and Bristol RI. In Bristol, we would like to pick up the bike path to Providence. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Holding tank questions
On our PDQ36, we also had odor when someone was pumping the head. Water in the holding tank, foul air out the vent, vent near the cockpit - not good! We installed a SaniGard Holding Tank Vent Filter in line and the problem was solved. BTW - it lasts years as long as the tank isn't overfilled and wat...

Re: Cockpit storage of sheets and halyards
Dan : For several of the lines, try to put them in a loose coil of about 18 to 20" long, take one end of the coil over the roof support just to the right of your helm chair, and bring it back through it's loop. I keep the jib halyard, the jib sheet and the main sheet here on Kokomo. Bonnie keep...

Re: WINDLASS
We have a Sprint 1000 by Lewmar on the Stb. bow - piece of crap!!! Do you believe they don't sell motor brushes - you have to buy a new motor... We have a manual Lofrans on the Port side. Harder to use, but a good back-up. Would have added another electric but too much trouble and expense. A windles...

Re: Fridge on a 32
If you are ever going to the Bahamas, keep in mind that propane is only available in a few locations. Even in Georgetown, there were problems getting tanks filled this year.

Re: Saloon Door
We had the same issue. The door is actually made by a US company, but I can't recall the name. Hard to believe because the fit is so tight, but; the center recessed part of the handle is a removable insert. I used a very thin screwdriver to pry out the bottom. It added a few small nicks at the edge ...

Re: Hot Water Heater
The heater is a "Tiny Titan" by US Craftmaster waterheaters. We did experience some clouding of the water from sitting in the tank. We now use the hot water faucet for most of our needs in order to circulate the water through the 2.5 gal. holding tank.

Re: Boardings in Nassau Harbor
Before arriving, we head of boardings at the Nassau Harbour Club Marina. They are remodeling, so the usual security is down. They enter the unlocked boats, take cash, and leave undetected. We notified the Defense Force and they took a report. It sounds like this is becoming a common problem. The int...

Hot Water Heater
After using and exploring many options, we now have a 2.5 gallon electric hot water heater. We use the sun-shower most of the time, but when that isn't hot, we hook up the electric heater directly to the Honda 2000 and have hot water in 8 minutes. The unit was around $150 and installation was easy u...

Shower Faucet
Our Whale shower head died. I was never impressed by the head or the replacement price. Solution: I spliced in the sprayer nozzle used to rinse dishes at the sink. Cost about $7.00 and works great with the spring loaded shut-off. Worked so well, we also installed one on our sunshower.

Boardings in Nassau Harbor
It's 4AM and we were just boarded, as we slept, by a naked male. We understand this is not a single incident. We have heard of boardings at the Nassau Harbour Club and the anchorage east of that location - all hearsay was that cash was taken from wallets. We are anchored just off the Green Parrot / ...
