Re: Northern Lights Genset Brushes
hi,
you may want to search and pose your question on this forum: https://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/s6/
if the link doesn't work it's trawler forum then power systems sub group.
they have a lot of discussions on northern lights and have quite a few professional contributors.

Re: Thru Hull Splash Cover
after i posted the clam shell, i reread your original post. if this is the cover for the anchor locker drain, ours fell off too, 16 years ago. we actually had 2 problems, 1) the cover fell off 2) i discovered pdq had never actually drilled the drain hole. i fixed #2 with a good sized drill bit. as t...

Re: Hydraulic Steering Rams
hi mac, i'll give you the good news first....starboard side and easy to get at. if you're seeing dripping from the pushrod exiting the ram, the seal is leaking. our boat in connecticut has the exact same ram and the temps here have been in low 40's and no leaking. it's possible a piece of grit has g...

Re: Engine temperature
i can't answer any of your question (we have 75 hp) but for 18 years our stb engine has run hotter than the port. i can't say why. thought a lot about it but nothing concrete.

Re: Replacement Mattresses
i'll add to this. we have a 2003. i assume that the bunks on all years are the same. my questions are: 1) how closely does this mattress match the length & width of the original? 2) on ours, the rear edge has a tapered thickness to match the curve of the hull. how does the new mattress conform? ...

Re: Marine Head questions for PDQ 34
hi mike, i took a look at the doc on the jabsco kit. it is essentially the same parts as we have on the jabsco on our mainship. if that's the case, i've rebuilt the pump before. it has 2 impellers on either side of a ss plate. one impeller sucks the saltwater in and the other pushs the bowl contents...

Re: Restriction in Blackwater Line from Head
my friend said the big problem was getting old hose out. didn't talk much about the new one going in. i would recommend the raritan saniflex. it is very flexible. i have used it on 2 projects and been very happy. not sure if james is on forum regularly. try getting to him using forum's private messa...

Re: Restriction in Blackwater Line from Head
if muriatic acid is helping, i would keep trying it. it might make the hose more flexible and easier to get out. i have a friend who had this same problem on 2004 pdq. he ended up cutting the hose into pieces to get it out. it was packed with hardened buildup. james power is a former pdq tech guy wh...

Re: Restriction in Blackwater Line from Head
ok, i'll ask it differently. was the boat used for any length of time as a saltwater toilet. if the answer is yes, there's a pretty good chance that the combination of urine and salt water has reduced the hose inside cross section considerably. if this is the case, muriatic acid may help but you pro...
