Re: Clamshell covers?
Hi Ron, PDQ used the same clam shell vents on all their boats. Our 36 lost a couple also. I replaced them with ones fashioned from PVC pipe and attached them with 5200. They are still in place after many rough passages. Ray

Re: Electric Head
Paula and I are thinking of replacing our head with "something better" and we are enthralled with your project. However, we cannot see the images you posted and, as our boats are identical in construction, images of your hard work is important to us. How can we make those images visible on...

Re: ACCESS to Pressure Water Pump
We have not had an issue with our water pump, yet. However, we did with the A/C unit located in the settee nearest to the starboard hull along with our house water pump. We found that removing the navigation cabinet/desk/shelf unit was not that difficult and gave us easy access to the A/C and house ...

Re: Cruising to lower Caribbean on power cat?
In the end, regardless of the vessel, it is the skill and seamanship of the skipper that makes for a safe passage. Using nautical miles per gallon as criteria for distance traveled is fool hardy. Always use gallons per hour consumed as a true and documentable measurable of fuel consumption rate. Sea...

Re: Straightening Rudders
I wish it had been that easy for us. We discovered Wind Seeker had a bent rudder slanting towards the bow (backed over something) when we hauled her. It was an angle that availed no part of the boat on which to take a purchase. So we had it pulled to straighten the shaft. Much more time consuming an...

New Yamaha T9.9XEHBs Installed on Wind Seekeer
Not to belabor you with the details but I installed new Yamaha T9.9 XEHB models on Wind Seeker. The install went well mainly because of all the guidance gleaned from this great PDQ owners site. Got over 20 hours on them now and no issues. I will gladly answer any questions. Pluses: straight drop in,...

Hello Joe and Deb, We updated our hot water system on Wind Seeker a few years back using an Excel propane heater. I think the old discussion thread on this topic would be beneficial to you. Here is a link to that installation and discussion within this forum. Regards, Ray http://www.pdqforum.com/vie...

Knee Chest and Elbow Savers
Here is a great pad to lean on while working on the engines of any PDQ model or leaning through a hatch. Get one of those pool noodles at the Dollar General Store and cut a slit half way through lengthwise in one side to the core of the noodle. Box cutter works great for this. Then cut the length yo...

Re: Yamaha T9.9 electric tilt motor cover corrosion
My sympathies Eric they all do it. All my Yamahas and Honda lift motor housing rusted. I was able to inhibit further damage with CRC’s Marine Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor. When applied it creates a heavy thick wax film that blocks water to any surface. The coating is dark amber in color and sticky...
