Re: Sunshine was sunk by the US Coast Guard
We love to have you with your RV, we're thinking about one ourselves. But there is a problem.: RV's are not permitted overnight where we live.

This is a pretty close knit family. I hope many of your connections remain. We certainly will.

Re: Sunshine was sunk by the US Coast Guard
I smell extreme negligence by the Coast Guard. If there was an open hatch they should have stopped, closed the hatch and pumped the boat out. To continue with an obvious problem is shear negligence. If they were able to send a crew over to finish sinking the boat, the seas were not too rough to chec...

Re: RPM vs speed with 75HP engines
Duane, The issue is not one of the height of the bow. It is an issue of buoyancy and has nothing to do with whether it is sail or powercat. Perhaps you just have too much stuff onboard. Be careful out there and have a safe trip.

Re: RPM vs speed with 75HP engines
Duane, If you are nose heavy, which your description says, you have a great chance of submarining (stuffing a wave) a catamaran. Sounds like you need some weight redistribution so that you are reasonably level at rest. The bow will tend to rise in power boat as power is applied, but you need to keep...

Sam, We were blocked like that several times when we were in Maryland. I didn't see any ill effects from it.

Re: Water Gauge
From A previous thread, I believe that Snake River Electronics has changed its name. Re: Waste Holding Tank Snake River Electronics sells a probe that fits into the tank to measure the liquid level. On the plus side they read several tanks, so you can buy probes for water and fuel tanks. https://tan...

Re: Water in the hulls?
These boats are very sensitive to loading. Have you put a lot of stuff onboard, perhaps added a heavier dinghy? If you have diesels, they also sit lower in the water. Heavier things should be stowed midship as much as possible.

Re: Repainting center aluminum window frame
Duane. You will need to surface prep very carefully. I suggest a product use on airplanes: Alumagrip (there may be a boat version)

Re: PDQ 32 diesel stop control.
The space is probably tight and leaving the old one in place will probably not be an option. Extra length will not be a real problem, but you definitely do no want to come up 6 inches short. You can use a plumbers snake, but you already have a similar item (the old cable in place). I replaced 8 thro...

Re: PDQ 32 diesel stop control.
Having replaced these kinds of cables before, first of all DO NOT PULL THE OLD CABLE OUT . Attach a flexible feed wire to one end to be used to snake the new cable in place and the carefully remove the old one being careful not to lose the feed wire (depending on the tightness of the fit, you may be...

This failure is common on all Yanmar diesels, including those in the 32 and 36 sailboats.
