Re: Webasto Water Tank

Guys, bear in mind our PDQ is home based in Bellingham, WA -- the Pacific Northwest. We're the last city before you cross the border into Vancouver, BC. It's a lot cooler and wetter here than where you guys live. We need heat and hot water. You'll laugh when I tell you people here think its a major ...

Re: Our PDQ Enhancements blog page

Nice blog, Russ. We have the same year PDQ and have also made a bunch of "enhancements"... but don't have a blog. I tend to share some of them here. Maybe a blog like yours some day.

Re: Webasto Water Tank

Hey John, Right! All we need is some guy smiling and floating around in a spacesuit. Welcome to what a PDQ owner in the Pacific Northwest considers essential to survival... and my wife's happiness... aka, a WEBASTO hydronic diesel heating system (in the port bow locker). It works like a charm. It's ...

Webasto Water Tank

Does anyone know the capacity (gals.) of the red water tank that is heated by the Webasto diesel heater?

Re: New PDQ 34 owner - General Questions

Welcome to the PDQ forum, David. That IS a big list... My first and probably best suggestion is to find and develop a close relationship with a local experienced professional boat maintenance person or group. It will save you tons of wasted time, mistakes in judgment and errors correcting / fixing i...

Same here. I am only aware of the salt/raw water washdown fitting next to the starrboard deck hatch.

Re: Shaft Seals

Alan, We installed new cutlass bearings and changed to PYI PSS Type A shaft seals a year ago when we had our running gear (shaft & props) removed and repaired. We did have a small leak at one of the seals. As you know, the tightness of the contact between the stainless-steel rotor and the statio...

Re: painting corroded aluminum window frames

Nice process, Bob. Thanks for the details. I had to do touch-up's on almost every window frame on our PDQ 2 years ago. My process wasn't quite as elaborate as yours with the multi sanding grades, but it turned out well. However, with the help of a paint specialist at our local shipyard, I tried seve...

Aft Fuel Tank dimensions?

Can anyone supply me with the accurate dimensions of the aft fuel tank on a 2006 PDQ. We're planning to have both of our fuel tanks cleaned and "polished" by a company in the Puget Sound area that specializes in this work <http://www.petro-clean.com>. They asked about the shape of the AFT ...

Current C-120 chart SD Card

Does anyone have for sale or know where to buy a current N. America / Canada Navionics SD card for a C-120 Raymarine chart plotter? By current, I'm referring to the larger 2GB SD cards that work with the latest firmware on the C-120 (Ver. 5.1.6)? I've ordered one ($200) through our local Radar Marin...

I’m planning to install high temp alarms on our exhaust systems this winter. For those that have already done this, could you share details on how and where you ran the wires for the panels to the lower AND upper helms

Re: fuel "burping"?

It's a real challenge for all PDQ owners. We tell our charter guests to do what we do... pump fuel slowly and watch the fuel tank gauge carefully; and STOP filling when the needle is steady on FULL. Do NOT try to completely fill the tank.

Re: Replacing house batteries

Duane asked me (privately) how my battery replacement project played out vs. my objectives... Here's what I sent to him. I tried to send this reply to the forum last week, but it did not go through. Apparently there have been some tech problems that have impacted our ability to reply on this forum. ...
