Re: Fuel gauges not working

I’m happy to report my gauges are back up and running. Having no power to the gauges I followed James advice and here is what I found. The aft tank gauge is connected directly to the forward tank gauge. So the power line for both gauges goes from the forward tank gauge to the bus bar located directl...

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

I recently contacted Water Makers about the ISL 400 which is there best selling RO system. It seems like a really good water maker and if not for other boat issues I would probably go with. They are running a special this month. Basically the price comes to $6k with tax but not installed. They said ...

Re: Fuel gauges not working

James, With the instrument breaker on I have checked for power to the gauges with a multimeter and get no voltage at all. All other instruments are working normally. I thought maybe the key needs to be on however that makes no difference still no power. Might there be a inline fuse somewhere that I ...

Re: Fuel gauges not working

Alan, On my 05 the instrument breaker also controls the chart plotter and yes it was on. In fact I turned them all on just to make sure yet I still get nothing to the gauges??? Normally when fueling I keep an eye on them and when I get close I start slowing down big time but I couldn’t remember how ...

Fuel gauges not working

I’m just recently getting back to the boat starting to get ready for the Bahamas this winter and today decided to take on some fuel and pump out. When I started the boat I have no power at the gauges? There used to be a light that would come on and they were pretty accurate but today nothing at all....

Re: Air Conditioner Replacement

My boat also has a 16k unit and if I could I would definitely get an 18k
I am also in Florida and the 16k barely cools the boat even with all the windows covered.
If you can I would go with the 18k... too hot down here.

Re: Hard Top?

Very nice job.. Looks great.
Will not be showing this to the admiral or I'm sure I'll be calling Atlantic towers myself..
I keep thinking about all those beautiful solar panels that could go up there.....

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

John, I was actually hoping you would reply as I've seen you spent a lot of time over there. I have an 05 with a fresh water head so I'm sure that will require more frequent trips to marinas than for you.. As far as anchoring I do plan on being at anchor or a mooring more than at a dock. My travelin...

Thoughts on Watermakers ?

I know many PDQ owners spend time each year in the Bahamas and I was wondering people's thoughts on having a watermaker aboard? Im aware of all the maintenance issues with them but many people I've talked to say they wouldn't go cruising again without one.. if anyone has one they particularly like o...

Re: gps wiring?

John,
The boat is a 2005 and the autopilot does indeed say "STalk failure".
Everything is powering up just not doing anything. I'm going down to the boat today with my multimeter
and see what I can find. I will report back when I figure it all out.
Thanks again

Re: gps wiring?

Thanks for posting this as I am having a similar issue. I picked up the boat from Stuart Yachts last Monday heading to new home in Key Largo. Left for Sunset marina and everything was working properly. Got up the next morning and the chartplotters have "no fix".. Also no autopilot at eithe...
