Interior Carpets.
We have PDQ 34 MV#99 We made some interior carpets to cover the floorboards and have used them for several years to protect the veneer on the floor boards and to keep the interior cleaner. They were made out of cheap bathroom carpet that we cut to fit and banded ourselves. The thin rubber backing fi...

Re: transfer pump
I ended up putting a priming circuit with a squeeze bulb as found on outboard motor tanks in line near the transfer pump. Now it is a simple matter to re prime the transfer pump. I found that I lost the prime at times I spite of following admonition to not empty the forward tank too far. Also could ...

Re: Gelcoat Polish
I have been using sealants rather than wax and much prefer them. They are much easier to use than wax and I have been very satisfied with the results. The products that I would recommend are Pro Polish from Shurehold or Rejex. Both are readily available on line. You need to clean the surface well be...

Re: window gaskets
Any current advice on the removal and replacement of the window gaskets? I assume that they are just seated mechanically and without any sealer/adhesive. Any technique advice so as not to damage the gasket in removing and replacing it?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: converting salon table to drop-leaf
We removed the original table with the core. We replaced it with an all teak one where the leafs fold up on top of the center portion. We have a single low and high pedestal. Normally we use the low one and fold the table up when we are underway and use it as a serving table and can get in around it...

Re: Sealant / adheasive used at galley sinks
Just went through repairing my sink which had separated from undersurface of the counter top. The older posts were helpful to me. Some things I have learned that might be helpful. 1. Chemicals containing ammonia, oxalic acid etc may weaken the seal. Cleaners such as Barkeepers Friend and Brasso have...

Was able to get it repaired by Raymarine for $300. Hopefully it will continue to work fine.

Re: E80 display
That's my inclination assuming its fixable. They list the flat max fee as $1200. We're you satisfied with the outcome?

John
Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. I agree with your thoughts on the options and hope to find that the E80 is repairable or if not that I can find a reasonably priced replacement of the same.
Best wishes.

E80 display
The Raymarine E80 display on my bridge has failed. I am not sure if it is repairable. Apparently the current Raymarine equipment is not compatible with what is one the boat. Does anyone know of a source of E80 display that I might be able to use to replace the one I have. The rest of things seems to...

I too am curious about the change in engines. Particularly, I am interested in how it is done given the tight quarters in the engine compartments.

Log Racing
This past weekend I participated in a log predicted log race. I certainly did not do well compared to the pros. The boat seems very sensitive to wind and wave action compared to others making accurate predictions more difficult with varing condidtions. I am wondering if any others have experience lo...
