Re: Second Anchor
Thanks. The dual bow roller design still leaves the line handling/storage problem for the second line/chain. Suspect Gadzooks' suggestion of manually setting a second, danforth type anchor makes more sense and is certainly simpler for those few times (ICW, etc) when a second hook is nice. Appreciate...

Second Anchor
I am thinking of mounting a second anchor (a claw type) in an anchor roller on the bow and would welcome any suggestions on both where to locate it as well as its associated line/chain. The absence of a capstan on the stock windlass also presents issues. Appreciate any ideas. Thanks John Sawyer Katl...

Re: PDQ 2nd Annual Cookout at Sailboat Show
From the representative of the Power Cat fleet, a warm thank you to Eric and Bonnie for a great gathering. I hope Octavia now feels a bit more comfortable on the water. Looking forward to next year - maybe arriving by boat.

Re: Sliding Window Pull Handle
With lots of help from the folks at Bomar, I've found the handle. The PDQ main salon sliders (at least for my 2005 MV) were manufactured by the Aluminum2000 Division of Bomar now Pompanette. The replacement handle is Bomar part number 40-2158 at $2.70 each and can be ordered from Bomar Customer Serv...

Re: Sliding Window Pull Handle
I've found the forum is great for sharing prior owners resesarch on common problems and hope the trend continues: I have broken the plastic handle on my starboard salon sliding window and see that Moonstruck had the same issue a couple of years ago. Can anyone help point me to the appropriate vendor...

If you have Aqua Drives installed, they have their own mounts.

RayMarine Chartplotter
When in chartplotter mode, I had been unable to zoom into the lower (more detailed) chart ranges on the FB L1260DRC radar/chartplotter/sonar display as were available on the salon RL70CRC display until I discovered that – in Chart Setup - the display has to be configured to “Plotter OFF”. I don’t pr...

Re: Raymarine Pathfinder compass problem
Curious that the fluxgate tested ok, but the course computer idoesn't see it yet otherwise functions normally. While I'm sure you tested all the lead combinations, just in case here is the test pattern Raymarine specifies. Red to Green: 4 ohms; Red to Yellow: 4 ohms; Green to Yellow: 8 ohms; Screen ...

Re: Topping lift "hum"
Try running the topping lift line through the middle of a tennis ball (you select the color). Acts as a damper.

Re: PDQ and Pearson
Re the above, I believe Barry was describing some of the wood trim and salon table upgrades that the Pearson Composites factory added to Heron (Dick Tuschick’s MV34) last summer. Gives the interior a very nice look. At the 2010 Boston show, Pearson has a booth displaying line drawing of several conc...

Re: 34 Owners List?
I’d hate to see this great idea atrophy. An owners listing would facilitate keeping ion contact with fellow owners amidst our travels. In the spirit of ‘build it and they will come’, I’d like to float the following proposal: We establish a PDQ Owners List (sail and power) under the Administrative Fo...

Re: 34 Owners List?
Great suggestion though will require some work for our webmaster to creat an editable listing. I assume each should only be permitted to edit his/her own!? And that the listing should be open to all PDQ owners.

Re: FB Table Pedestal
Hi Ed. Inspired by the Edson folding cockpit table in my sailboat and the desire to expand the surface area to allow FB dining using the port aft and side seats, my first thought was to add an additional table pedestal , thus the posting. I am now thinking of simple using the existing pedestal with ...

FB Table Pedestal
Any thoughts on a source for the pedestal legs used for both the salon and FB tables on the 2005 34s. It (faintly) has the name Borko Italy on the rubber top and bottom inserts but I find nothing on Google.
