Re: New owner in Jacksonville need help

Bill- First of all, welcome to the group. You will find lots of good help here. I have hull 114, and have had the worst time with the pressure water system. Here is what I suggest. Check the switch panel to be sure the pressure water breaker is on. When you ask for water, if you hear the pump runnin...

Re: LP Gas Hose

I ordered a propane hose for the BBQ out of the factory. We ended up with a leak in the hose, and scrapped the hose idea. However a new Magma BBQ mounted on the rail on the flybridge started me thinking. I ordered a smaller propane tank (equivalent to 10 +/- small green camp stove bottles) and keep ...

Re: Phantom Screens

Our boat, Hull 34/114, did not come with a phantom screen on the front middle window. I am not sure if PDQ simply didn't install one, I was told that there was a switch in window manufacturers & it was not feasible due to configuration or if it was a casualty of their impending Bankruptcy. I was...

Re: Windshield Wipers

I was able to take my wipers into a local Napa Auto Parts store and they handed me 3 over the counter. Im away from the boat, but believe I can provide you the part number in 7-10 days. If you hace a Napa store close, give it a try.

Re: transfer pump

We have long used the valve method described by Dick. One thing to keep in the back of your mind is that on Vita Bella, the direction switch on the transfer pump is wired in reverse, so to pump forward-aft, the switch must point toward the bow. Once in a while we need to flip that switch back and fo...

Re: cruise speed

We have Hull 114,( 110 turbo's w/ 4 blade 17" props) and routinely cruise at 14-16 knots. Here on San Francisco Bay, we fight/enjoy some serious tides, so we plan out trips accordingly, While in transit from Whitby, we had more OTG speed, however weight is the enemy. I once saw 21.5 knots, but ...

Capsized PDQ SV 32 in 2000

July 4,2000 a PDQ 32 capsized off the Northern Ca Coast, and there was much chatter about the sea worthyness of our boats. Well, last week while cruising my MV 34 on San Francisco Bay I stumbled across the boat that flipped, spoke with the brother of the gal that owned to boat. The boat was salvaged...

Re: NAFTA Certification Document

I brought MV 114 into the US in October of 2007. I was told that I needed to have Customs come to Phoenix NY to check the boat and issue an import document. When we got to the Video Phone in Oswego to clear customs, I was told to keep going and this inspection was not needed. Later through the Canal...

Flybridge enclosure??

We are giving some thought to having a flybridge enclosure made for the boat. It gets a bit chilly running around SF Bay. Beside the obvious that it would add windage, I'm looking for disadvantages and other advantages from those that have had it done. I'm also looking to see who did the work and a ...

Re: Water Gauge

On Vita Bella (Hull 114), we have gauges in the head showing fresh water & holding tank levels. I wonder if James could retrofit those that are not equipped with these?
