Re: Gas Oven Installation on our PDQ 34'

I installed the ENO Perigord Gourmet version. It fit fine, but I think my installation could have been better. I notched the lower molding so that the little rubber feet would go through. On second thought, I should have removed the little feet and put a layer of something or two strips of something...

Re: novacool fridge

After three months in the Bahamas, our defrost frequency appears to be just short of two months, at least six weeks. Anyway, one thought that I have is the placement of the thermostat. Ours is three inches below the evaporator. It seems like a more central location would be more accurate overall, ma...

Re: Cabinet Storage?

Mac, Sorry, I did not measure or take pics. I got in by removing the stereo for replacement. It was held in by some mild adhesive only, so I gently pried it out. I could see in through the hole pretty well. The space goes all the way to the floor and accesses the cable run across the bottom of the b...

Re: Cabinet Storage?

I replaced my stereo and had a look in there. It is all empty space. I would love to use that space. Maybe when I get back to the states.

Re: Macerator pump installation

Are you talking about the macerator pump that is essentially part of the toilet, or are you talking about a pump that pumps the holding tank over? My toilet/macerator has given no problems in my first two years, but I carry a spare. The pump that I use to pump the holding tank over when at sea is a ...

Re: novacool fridge

Russ, Point taken. Before the new batteries, our fridge dripped some from the front edge of the evaporator. The new batteries and more solar made a big difference, but wiring size is important. I do believe it is 25 feet, twice as far as my old sailboat. I might rewire. Did you have to slide the fri...

Re: novacool fridge

As far as I know, we have the original refrigerator on our boat. Last year it frosted up all the time. We had to defrost once a month, sometimes more often. Then we replaced the batteries and added two more solar panels. In the morning at sunup the voltage is 12.4 and rises to 13 in a few hours. Now...

Re: New Head..

Well, OK, maybe just replace the seat. I keep on board a spare joker valve and a spare macerator pump. The odd thing about spares is that if you have them, you will not need them. I have a lot of examples of this phenomena.

Re: solar panels?

Just an update. We are in the Bahamas now. Battery chargers are in float mode (charged up) every day by about two PM. It has worked out nicely.

Re: fuel "burping"?

My solution is to fill the forward tank and transfer to the rear. Have had very little burping on the forward tank. Takes some coordination depending on how much fuel I am taking on.

Re: Flybridge seal with upper deck

I have noticed the same thing on our 2005 M/V 068. Our single helm seat removes for easier access, but I can get inside without removing it. I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 200 lbs. If I slide in feet first, I have no problem getting in and out. Once inside, I can see light coming under where the f...

Re: Aft Fuel Tank dimensions?

I do not know the dimensions, but pretty sure it is flat. Have had this done on a former boat. No questions asked about tank dimensions in that case. Surprised that it is an issue.

Re: solar panels?

Since I put a hardtop on the flybridge, I decided that I might as well cover it with solar panels. We have a 300 watt panel on the aft bimini, but is often shaded part of the day by the flybridge bimini. I put two 300 watt panels on the flybridge hardtop. I wired them in parallel, but I could have w...
