Anchors
Ed: We used a "Spade" anchor while in FL and the Bahamas. It worked like a dream!!! It's the 44 (or 40?) lb. steel version. We also went to mostly chain (100 feet on the Spade) because of dealing with strong tidal currents that, in the past, had wrapped our rope rode (using 40 ft. of chain...

Propane Hose
The PDQ36 has a rubber hose, about 30" long, that switches from 1 bottle to the other in the Propane Locker. One end of th hose is the standard POL bottle fitting and the other is (I believe) a 3/8" pipe thread. I need a replacement! In looking at all the standard marine catalogs, I see no...

Congrats...
I know you have mixed feelings but we're so happy you are now only a one boat family.
We're crossing to the Bahamas this AM and we'll be thinking of you and the advice you provided over the past 4 years.
Take care...

Spectra Info from Kokomo
We're using the Spectra "Santa Cruz" (I think???). It makes 6 to 7 gph but the trade off is that it's less expensive and, more importantly, it has a 40 inch membrane versus the normal 80 inch - much easier to find a place to install. If that's not enough water, Spectra has larger models. M...

PC as a plotter
We (Kokomo) also use the "Capn" software and are VERY pleased with the results. The PC is used in the cockpit or set on the saloon table in really bad weather.

Heat
We've been using an "Alladin" oil lamp. It has a mantle like Coleman lamps, but you don't pump it up. It puts out a large amount of heat (and light) and is available at the hardware store in Annapolis at the head of Ego Ally (across from the market). We only use it up to bedtime.

Yamaha 9.9 Stator Failures
Stator problems with Yamaha 9.9.
Our 9.9 Yamaha has 936 hours and is on its third stator. The last on only lasted 43 hours. Is there some other faulty component that would be causing the stator failure?

Board Format - are posts decreasing?
It seems that the number of questions and responses has dropped since the new format was adopted. Or maybe that is just my imagination? Any thoughts?

Kokomo is OUTTA here ...
Four years ago we took delivery of PDQ 36080 in anticipation of our retirement. We lived aboard in Baltimore and lived through 4 winters including one blizzard of "historic" proportion. On June 18th we FINALLY both retired and we cast off to live the dream we started with the purchase of o...

Try HyperVent - a ¾” pad made from a spun polymer. This ¾” polymer pad doesn’t compress from body weight and allows dry air to circulate underneath the mattress. HyperVent is 39 inches wide and comes in lengths up to 100 feet at $7.00 per foot running plus shipping (See http://www.hyperventmarine.co...
