Power Issue

We were making coffee on the boat this morning as we were getting ready to leave. We disconnected the power and turned the inverter on to continue with the coffee. After a couple seconds the power to that outlet went out and all our other outlets also. It looks like everything on the inverter 110 si...

Re: Flotation

I don't have any direct recall or the incident. In 2019 I did run across what I suspect is the boat John is referring to. It was on the hard at a marina in Port Canaveral. The marina said it went down in the slip in a hurricane, I think it was Matthew. I am not sure how far under it went. It was not...

Re: Florida Storage

Just to echo what John said. After doing a lot of research, we disconnected the Promariner monitor also. The monitor system would send a test signal into the marina electrical system that new ultra sensitive breakers interpret a problem on the boat and they trip. We have not had an marina electrical...

Re: West Coast Hull 114 going on the market

Hello Mark and Dea,

Welcome to the family and the forum. Janet and I have had our boat for five years and love it. I hope you enjoy yours as much as we have. The forum will become your best friend.

Re: PSS Seal Size or Part Number

Doug, We switched three years ago to PSS Type A shaft seals due to constant problem with the Tides seals. We have not had any problems. If you do develop a leak they can be adjusted in about 10 minutes with the boat in the water. I had to adjust them one time not long after they were installed. The ...

Re: Bottom Paint

I have had Propspeed put on the props the last couple of times the bottom was painted. It is not not an anti fouling paint but creates a finish hard and slick. I have been pleased with it. https://propspeed.com/

Re: Pulling Bundles and a few other questions

Carl,

Welcome to the PDQ owners group. It is a great forum and friendly owners when you meet them in person. If you don't mind my asking, where does your trip begin and end?

Re: Pulling Bundles and a few other questions

Carl, Removing the heat exchange core can probably be done as Duane says, just from the front. It clearly worked when he did it. When I did mine, I pulled the rear cap also. There is are two gaskets in the rear one of them controls the flow of the water. The flow control gasket could be damaged when...

Re: Heat Craft Cabin Heater Circulation Pump

Ours is also a centrifugal pump and located behind the engine on the port side. We have had the boat for over 4.5 years and have never had an issue with it.

Re: Boat Insurance

BJ, I am not sure why your premium is so high. Ours did go down a couple of hundred dollars this year, perhaps yours will. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the boat is at our house in Palm coast. We are only 1.5 miles from the ICW but the nearest inlet is 15 miles away (tide surges). We also have ...

Re: Boat Insurance

John, Our boat is behind our house in Palm Coast, Florida. It is insured for an agreed value of $243,000. I have attached a copy of the declarations page. Like Expatriate, we use Triton as our independent broker with Geico as the insurer. They were recommended by Beth Simkins when we bought the boat...

We use GEICO, written through an independent broker. It renewed in February for $1,548.

Re: Hydraulic Ruder Aligbment

We try to remember to do it as a part of our routine shutdown. We do forget sometimes though. When we run in the neighborhood of a 100 miles (our max) it does not seem to be much further out of alignment than when we do 35 miles. Our steering does not get hard to turn, the rudders just drift out of ...

By the way, I tried to rotate the picture and couldn't. If you double click on it, it will open correctly.
