Gina and I are also new owners (1991 PDQ36, hull #15). Pictures at: http://www.islandfx.com/ssct We are in Melbourne, just north of you. We bought ours in Ft. Lauderdale and could not be happier. Since we lost an Endeavour 37 (I lived aboard) last year in Frances, we were very stressed by Wilma, alt...

I have gotten no response regarding a raft up or gathering during the SSCA GAM so I will offer the following. If anyone is looking for a cozy anchorage near the GAM, drop in to the Eau Gallie River Basin. I have posted the appropriate portion of the nautical map at: http://www.islandfx.com/ssct/EGRi...

LPG propane tanks
Anyone know the proper weight for a full 10 lb aluminum propane tank? I would prefer to have it filled by weight rather than by volume. Sometimes I need a refill before the tank is totally empty and the local guy just fills it blindly without purging the tank and without using the scale. I guess he ...

Lady of the Lake has her home in Melbourne (Neshamah with her new owner is also here). I would love to have a PDQ gathering if we can pull it off. I have never hosted such an event but would be willing to do what I can. There is a great island/cove just less than 10 miles south of the event that mak...

We have a great island spot up here in Melbourne for anyone that is going to attend the SSCA gathering. Maybe we can arrange an overnight at the island (marker 21, a mile or two south of the Melbourne Causeway). There is a nice deep hole on the leeward side. Lets see how many PDQs we can get in there.

When you get a chance, lift the floor in the cockpit just to take a look around. It was very enlightening when I took a good hard look. I changed the fuel sending unit from a mechanical sender to an electronic sender from Livorsi. Looks like there is a lot more room in there for a much bigger fuel t...

Black goo oozing around ignition key holes
Anyone else experiencing the ignition key sockets turing in to black goo? The key still fits in but the outside has turned sticky like tar. It gets all over everything. Can these be replaced or are they integral to the ignition switch? Anyone figured out how to keep this from happening? Thanks, Sam ...

I want one! We have been looking for a way to fabricate a stern bench. Can you send me the specs? sdensler@mac.com
Thanks!
Also, I cannot find the emergency tiller on hull #36015. Are you saying that you got a new one from the factory? If so, how much was it?
Sam

For the Mac users out there, there is a new program to read ENC vector charts called MacENC available from http://www.gpsnavx.com/MacENC/ for $94.95, including a CD with all of the ENC charts on it. I have been using his GPSNavX for raster charts for years and am very happy with the product. I have ...
