I have the same - spinlock XA. Recently broke one and replaced all 8 as they are 20 years old, and brittle. Cost was about $15 each.

Re: Radar Installation
Thanks
That agrees with other research I've done on the matter - low power and exposure more than 1 meter away - no concern.

Radar Installation
I'm finally installing radar on my 32. A Garmin 18" dome. I plan to install the dome on top of a 9 ft pole at the starboard aft corner - easy to access , make wiring runs, etc. Of course the radar waves from the unit will be above the tops of peoples heads, except for those times when someone m...

Re: Solar panels on hard top PDQ 32
I seem to use most of the area not already taken by the initial solar panels for crawling around when putting the main away in the sail pack.
I would like to add additional panels also, but this stops me.

hatch screens
Anybody know the make and/or model number for the 3 vertical hatches that open into the cockpit? These are the big 11x17 hatches.
I need to order a new screen. Thanks

Re: Under bed storage project.
As info, I did use Drew's idea of the piano hinge on the lids and use a 2 ft aluminum rod against the outside bulkhead to hold the lid up. Makes getting into the locker a breeze.

Re: marine plywood
Borates are an excellent insecticide, but since they're so water soluble, will leach out of the wood if not encapsulated. They are not efficacious against marine borers, such as the toredo worm. On a prior boat, the packing gland on the toilet flush plunger leaked salt water into the head, and the p...

Re: marine plywood
I think the discussion on adhesive is worth considering, but I was thinking more about the decay characteristics. The plywood bought in all building supply stores does not have the correct preservative to prevent decay in a marine environment. Trying to find plywood that is appropriate (It contains ...

marine plywood
I was reading Mike and Rebecca's recent blog on cleaning their water tank, and noticed Mike used the term "marine plywood". I am actually in the wood preserving industry, so know more than the average consumer on this matter. When anyone is doing a repair job and using plywood onboard, wha...

Re: New owner with so many questions
This string made me wonder about something. My halyard for the main comes back to the cockpit, but it doesn't matter, as when dropping the main, I need to go to the mast to help pull it down. Does anyone have a main that freely drops when the halyard is released, and if so, what's the secret? thanks...
