LRC versus Classic Specs

Hunting for a good PDQ 32 or 36, making the transition from single-handing a mono on offshore passages.

Hoping for some help with one specific issue: Is the powerplant the main difference between the Classics and the LRCs -- 9.9 outboards versus Yanmar inboards?

Or are there other significant differences, for instance beefier standing rigging, chainplates, rudders, keel-stubs, deck hardware, cleats, anchoring rig, and/or larger fuel or water tanks?

Apologies if this has been dealt with before but in a couple days trolling this forum, i haven't turned up much on this, yet.

There are several differences.
LRC has:
Backstays
Stainless bow protectors with bridle rings for anchor bridle
Skegs to protect the rudders and balance the boat on the hard.
Diesels with saildrives
maybe more .....

Two more things -

Water heater heated by diesel engines as well as 110v.

2 starting batteries.

Just a few notes.
The LRC has the SS bow protection. It is an upgrade, that also includes bow pulpits and mast pulpits, sound deadening between the staterooms along with the skegs. I do use the "U" bolts on the bow protection strip for anchoring, but the original u bolts are not marked by the manufacture . As I am a single hander, I don't want to guess about the hardware. I have replaced the u bolts with larger Wichards, and bedded them (not done with the stock bolts). The LRC only has the outboards. If you are going to cruise the Bahamas or other remote areas, it will be very difficult to find services for the diesels. The best source for outboard repairs are the PDQ community. A wealth of knowledge and they carry spares ;-)

I currently own a 32 LRC vintage 1997 named " Island Fever". It is currently in Daytona Beach.I also have her up for sale. If you really want to get some straight answers(a few of the respondents mis-stated some facts about the LRC)please contact me.You can also view the vessel on Sailboatlistings.com Thanks,Barbara
