Happy New Year! I am working on the first Newsletter of 2010. I have changed the format a bit and am focusing more on photos and links to websites, blogs, etc. so that readers can click on links in the PDF file to read a blog or story.

So... Please send me links to your blogs (if I don't already have them), links to reference sites you like, and photos with short captions. As soon as I get a good bit, I will compile the newsletter and send it out.

Also, any photos, stories, etc. from the PDQ Gathering in Florida recently would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for whatever you can send.

All the best,
Eric

Hi Everyone. I have not gotten much in feedback for the next newsletter. I have been going through the posts and compiling a good bit. I may have it done next week, so if you have any photos, stories or more links, please send them soon. Thanks.

Hi Eric,

Linda and I are deep in house construction this summer - I may be able to put together a few maintenance tips. Any topics in particular - I have a pretty good article on power cords and electrical safety that I put together when I was docks chair - good general stuff. Let me know... At this point the extent of our cruising plans will be dinghying across the river to see y'all.

Something interesting on power cords would be good. I compiled enough for this issue, but could use some for the May/June time frame. We have been meaning to connect with you two for dinner or such. Just been up to my ears in Spring chores.

Thanks. Talk soon.
Eric

This maybe a silly Q, but where are the newletters posted?

Hi;

They are at - http://www.pdq36.com/newsletters.html.

The newsletters are not focused on just the 36. We just have the very good fortune that Sam will post things there for us.

All the best,
Eric

Hi Everyone;
For those who read this last newsletter, I would appreciate any feedback on it, or ideas for the next one. Hope everyone liked it.

By the way, in your quote about our blog:
"They have discussed more intricacies of boat ownership in one winter than I have talked about at a hundred yacht club parties, while consuming untold quantities of rum."
Were you suggesting that WE consumed untold quantities of rum, or you did. Both may very well be accurate of course. :)

Actually the rum consumption was my own. :-) But I'll willingly share when you come through the Chesapeake Bay. Happy sailing.

Eric,
Just a note to encourage you.
We have just now got back on the forum so don't have much to offer at this time.
We are hauled out for a bottom job and hull paint.
Plans to do local sailing during hurricane season and Bahamas this winter, maybe up to your area next year.
It has been 20 years since our last trip to the Chesapeake. Looking forward to a repeat.
