I have Phenix, 1995-32007. We bought her in 1999 from an owner in Toronto. We
keep her in Chicago. There is nothing we regret about buying her .... the trick
is finding one, I guess

If you are near Chicago and want to take a look, contact me

I clicked on you name in your note and it cave me a hotmail address. That is
where I sent it

Duet is hull 22 which was spashed on 9/20/96. We brought her down for the boat
show and then took her to Florida, West Coast, George Town Bahamas, Abaco's and
home. We have gone south again in both 98 & 2000. We have a classic with
complete electronics including radar / chart plotter. We have the shorter mast
but have never felt that we wished we had the tall one especially going under
the 49 bridge at Lake Ocachobe. I have the original engines running it her now

I have a spare that I put in while I worked out some overheat problems in the
port engine

I agree with what Sandy said, for the qulality, you can't beat it. At 16 ft wide
we have more interior space than any narrow 34 or 35

If you have any specific questions, send me a email.

I sent you an email note desribing Duet and some things about cruising her for
the past 5 years. Asked if you have any specific questions. Have not recieved a
return. Did you recieve it? I heard that a 3 year old 32 was coming on the
market at Chesapeke Catamaran Center. Did you look into it?

"Page 83" is hull #30, a '98 Classic (outboard engines vice Diesels) and the
second (?) 32 with a taller mast. I bought it from a fellow member who now has a
new 36. For a long list of reasons, (all debatable) it was exactly what I was
looking for and met all but one of my expectations; the rudders are protected by
skegs, reducing the control area, and making the helm a little too wishy-washy
for the autopilot to work right. Since light boats sail faster, there is no
refrigeration, airconditioning, generator, washer/dryer or big screen TV on
board. Other owners needed these things. I have big solar panels for a principal
source of DC to charge the batteries, but one outboard will power everything on
the boat, including the radar. There is no other boat in this price range that
rings so many chimes for me, and the Owner's Association is an eclectic,
interesting, and wonderful bunch of friends. While I would not reccommend diesel
engines, I will defend anyone's right to carry them around wherever they go,
especially if they want to race!

Thank you for the info, Sandy. So you're saying that you are very happy with
your pdq. If so, what hull # do you have and should I be concerned about getting
a 95 or does it need to be newer? I think I have located a boat.

Finding one for sale is going to be a challenge. I shopped for 3 years, and had
two 32s sold before I could get there to look at them! John Farrow says that you
can expect to pay at lease the original basic list price for a PDQ 32, which
means you won't find one for less than $105,000

For that kind of money you could buy a 50' monohull. I just want you to
understand that lowering your standards for quality of construction and
performance will get you a bigger boat. But don't do it!
