Standing rigging replacement

Post by martincreek150 »

I made a similar post on the PDQ 36 Forum, but I'd also be interested in hearing from PDQ 32 owners, since their boats are of similar construction and vintage.

I recently read that standing rigging on catamarans should be routinely replaced after not more than twenty years. I understand that condition issues could be reason to replace standing rigging earlier. I'm interesting in learning about standing rigging replacements from Forum members. What conditions led to the need to replace standing rigging? Has anyone replaced some or all of their standing rigging as a precautionary measure or as a routine maintenance function?
