Dinghy for PDQ 32

Posted by Matt Ales on April 21, 2002 at 17:21:00:

We are in the market for a dingy for our 32' PDQ and would like to hear any
recommendations (pro or con) from other owners. We are currently leaning towards
a 9'3" RIB but I would love to hear that less pricey alternatives would perform
just as well. Also interested in successful ways to attach to the davits

Thanks

Hi there. We have the 32' PDQ and since we were going to sail it in the Bahamas,
we wanted one that could take the sun, had biiiig tubes so we wouldn't get wet
going from anchorage to dock, and had a hard bottom so it could take coral if
necessary coming into a shore. We ended up with the Carib, 9'some inches. We
have an 8 hp Yamaha that planes the 2 of us. Larry put a 2 to 1 purchase on the
front and 4 to 1 purchase on the back to allow us to take it up with the motor
on it. Any other questions, please feel free to email us.

I have an AquaPro RIB (9'6")that I purchased when I picked up my 32 at the
factory. It has been a great dink. It has a 15hp outboard which is the maximum
size as per the manufacturer

It will plane with two people on board so we can get where we want to go
quickly. It will also handle four people with a load of stuff with ease. I would
go with the RIB that you are looking at

As to the davits, I can't help you as we had them installed at the factory
