Slider Lock

Post by thinwater »

Does anyone have a clever way to lock the slider on the PDQ 32? I believe the PO installed a short slide bolt on mine, but if you lift the slider 1/2" it pops right of of the thing.

I'm more interested in simplicity in use than simple construction.

Mine has a cam that you have to press up when you open the hatch. It is located at the inboard end so you can't reach it unless the door is open.

I can post a photo if needed.

See photos below.
The latch is set into a strip of nylon bar that has been machined out at one end. There is another small nylon block secured above the post to serve as the locking edge. When the hatch is opened the nylon strip on the hatch slides along the top of the fixed block.
