mattress upgrades for Altair?

Hi all, I own 32047 "Folie a Deux"- I did get the more expensive mattresses from
PDQ when the boat was built in 2001, but my wife still does not find them to be
very comfortable. Has anyone had any experience in trying to fit a
"store-bought" full-size mattress into the berth on a 32, or has anyone
purchased a high-end boat mattress that they think is superior?

We have added a 2" mattress pad of slow recovery foam from a local foam factory

We have found this worked well and I didn't have to purchase different sheets.

Hi Chris,
We were "bottoming out" on our standard mattresses on the 36. I bought 1" closed
cell foam and cut it to size with an electric knife placing it under each
mattress. It has made a world of difference. The stuff is a gray hi density
foam

We purchased a regular full size from Verlo Mattress Factory store near the boat
about 4 seasons ago. It was a bit tight getting it around the corners, etc. but
once we got in it, we like it. We purchased one of their standard sizes that
matched the size we had. If I was to do it again, I would check out their price
to make it 2 inches shorter as the fit is snug and makes installing sheets
harder.
