RIB dinghy for PDQ32

Between hull distance is about 8.5ft and I assume RIB's length should not exceed
8.5ft. Apex A-8 lite at 8ft. and 59lbs. or Aquapro SLR 860 at 8.5ft,57lbs. seem
to be the right choice. Any suggestions?

I have an Apex A9 on factory davits (Hull #47), and this fits well (I think the
actual length of this RIB is 8.5'). It's easy to haul up without the engine, a
bit more work with the engine on. I tried a 4-stroke engine originally, but it
was too heavy. I have a Nissan 9.8HP two-stroke that weighs about 60 lbs and
planes the dinghy quickly with one adult in it. I generally store the engine on
a block on the stern rail when underway.

I have an Aquapro SMR901 with a 8HP Yamaha 2 stroke. I store them together on my
factory davits. Look at earlier entries on this web site as some people have had
trouble with larger engines.

We have a Caribe 9'3" for Lead Free and find that it fits very well. We take it up with the engine (yamaha, 8 h, 2 cycle) altho we changed out the block and tackle for a 6 way so I can take it up by myself. We find it a dry dinghy as the tubes are nice and big. It handles 4 people and snorkel gear fine.
