any 32's for sale also can any owners give me some of their sailing experiences,
top speed at what wind speeds etc. whzt about the issue of twin outboards vs
diesels? are the diesels too heavy for good performance?
has anyone raised a hull?
how does 32 performance compare to 36?

We own Duet a 32 with 8000 knots on her and two trips south. We have the short
rig with twin Yamaha's. Weight is a big factor. We cruise the intercoastal at 7
at 3/4 throttle. We get good boat speed to wind speed ratio, 7+ knots at 13-15
of wind. Contact me at Duet@coastalnet.com for more information. I just re-built
a Yamaha that I picked up to be a spare engine. Neat project.

We have hull #32015 ("Cat Pause") which has the shorter mast and we have the
twin Yanmar (9hp each) diesels. We do about 6 knots with both engines, which, I
think is slower than using the outboards. We also notice the weight aft, but
then she also carries a RIB dinghy. We also typically do about 1/2 the wind
speed, topping out at about 8 to 8.5 kts in a good blow with one reef. We have
reached 11 kts with our sym spinnaker

Good luck, I think you will love the boat ... we do.

Yes, They added 4 ft to the mast, kept the same jib demensions making it
fractional rig. They also added "all lines leading into the cockpit". Ours "22"
was,I believe, the first that had the double reef lines lead aft. I think either
28 or 29 had the new mast.

The last I knew the newer 32 had a mast 4 foot higher than the early models

I have hull #3 and get usually 1/2 the speed of the wind without a problem. 7-8
kts is usual comfortable top speeds. Have done more, but I usually reef down to
make ride more comfortable.
