Decals

Post by Allezcat »

Does anyone know where I might obtain replacement decals with the PDQ logo (PDQ Yachts) ? They are affixed to the aft end of the black gelcoat port & starboard.

Thanks,
Chet / Allezcat 36010

Chet,
I had new ones made by a vinyl lettering guy. Just take a picture of the current logo and some measurements and go to the local lettering shop. I had 2 sets made, gave my second to Rick Kilmer. If yours are so bad they can't be imaged, let me know and I can get pics next time I am in Punta Gorda (where the boat is right now).

As Lady of the Lake stated, any good vinyl sign company will use artwork to duplicate the decals. You might try using the attached file for artwork - we are also in the process of redoing our graphics on Magic Dragon. I think you should be able to "right click" on the file attached herewith, choose "save as" and put it in a file for later use. (Our website shows our new dragon logo - we'll be re-doing topsides once we are floating.)

I wonder. Would it be cheaper for set-up reasons to make a bulk order to cover several of us?

I'd be interested in a group buy. My decals are in terrible shape.

We are in the process of repainting the blue sections and also replacing the graphics. I was going to have them done from a lettering store, but if someone wants to do a bulk buy I'd be interested as well.

I'm counting five logo sets - is that correct?
Just measured ours - 14.25" x 4.5" is what ours measure (eliminating bottom line LRC - 36).
I'll ask our vinyl lady to quote that size for five sets.
Ours are teal or teal pearl - other colors?

If possible, I'd like to get a set in Pacific blue.

Thanks again.

If you are interested in a different style decal, this is what is on our boat. Although, we also like the PDQ Yacht decal (minus the LRC 36). We prefer a white decal, or the grey color that is used on the "Yachts" part of the above logo attachment.

Patty has the graphics file as .jpg file along with exact measurements of logo on our ship as pictured in teal. Patty suggests that owners contact her at above email address to order their own - estimated at $30. per set plus tax and shipping. Put PDQ Yacht graphic in subject line. We've been happy with other letters she has done for us - see our website for pictures of her work. Happy to put good people together!

When I took posession of my PDQ 34, we removed the striping for personal reasons having to do with color. This included the stripes on the cowling including the PDQ Yachts Logo. We replaced the striping without the logo. Last year when visiting Pierson Composites, I found that they had a new logo decal. It is in large block letters with the same font as the old one and made of very nice high quality vinyl. It is simply PDQ without the Yachts. I got a set and applied them to my boat and they look great. The may be able to supply you with some. I could get a picture and show them as they appear on the boat.
