Emergency Tiller

Post by Lady of the Lake »

Sure would like a way to steer my 36 should I have a problem with the steering. My 36 came with no emergency tiller. I cannot seem to find one anywhere. So I guess it is time to get one fabricated. Can someone send me a picture of theirs? Maybe a few critical dimensions? To be complete, I don't even have deckplates over the rudders so I will have to cut them.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Sam, When you are ready to purchase/fabricate one, I can let you borrow mine in order to facilitate an easier fabrication. I drive past you guys every couple of weeks anyway, so it would be no problem to hand deliver it to you.

Anyone know if they are the same on the 32 and 36?

James, any idea where I could find one or have on built? Were they custom?

Thanks all,
Sam

Any machinist worth your time could whip up a handle fairly quickly. I think it would be hardest to find the original deck access plates. Also kind of difficult to drill from underneath ligning up the access plates over the quadrant.
