Bathroom Sink Drain

Post by 36041 »

All,

Our drain fitting in the bathroom sink has finally given up the ghost. Does anyone know of a source for a replacement? I've tried at West Marine but they haven't been able to match it up to anything.

Thanks,
Tom

The top part of the drain that seals the sink bowl to the drain hose also broke on our boat. I haven't taken it apart yet, but will gladly give some feedback if I find a replacement.

After two attempts to get the correct part from the Prince of Darkness (West Marine) I took a chance and stopped by the mom and pop store on the waterfront in Oriental (Inland Waterway Provisioning Company). Lo and behold they had three of the proper drain fittings sitting on the shelf. If anyone else out there needs one, let me know and we can send one your way.

Tom

Tom, is this what your sink (and missing drain) look like?

Yep, that's the one. It's listed as a 1.1/4 inch drain fitting even though the fitting measures 2 inches across. I guess the measurement refers to the aperture on the INSIDE of the sink as that is the only piece that measured 1.1/4. If you want one get me your address and I'll drop it in the mail tomorrow.

Tom,

Thanks for shipping the sink drain part. I had to cut the threaded part because it was twice as long as necessary. Also the nut was not needed, but in the end it all worked out perfectly. No more leaky drain! :)
