Cockpit table - 36

Posted by SnJ on July 30, 2001 at 05:02:00:

Has anyone figured out a clever or creative way to add a cockpit table to the
36? We really miss dining under the stars

Our old boat had pedestal steering and a fold down table. We are looking for
something that is usable, but can be stowed easily

deas anyone?
Thanks.

Our current solution is to use a card table with metal legs. Five of us ate
round the table comfortably yesterday. The table "stows" flat on top of the
genset compartment installed in our port aft cabin. This is an inexpensive and
non destructive solution while you look for the perfect answer. Good luck - Grog

Allezcat, hull#10, came with a factory installed cockpit table. It consists of a
teak table approx 2'by 3' with fiddles. On the underside is a post receptacle
and clamp. There is a post receptacle with cover in the cockpit floor on the
starboard side of the fuel tank (31gal tank) and a short post. We store these
items in a cloth bag in the wet locker. It is very useful at anchor or dock but
requires some effort to set up and stow. If you install something similar, be
sure to check under the floor for clearance.

Garrelik makes a small diameter pedestal and a flush mount base that will fit in
the starboard rear of the cockpit. In this location it shoud not interfere with
the fuel tank, but I would check to be sure. As for a top I would opt either for
a garrelik top or a top made from "starboard" in whatever size you need

Hope this helps.
