Hey Sam,

Not sure why some of the early boats lacked emergency steering capabilities. It may have been added to the build after production started. Every sailboat should have an emergency steering system, and I would follow Page 83's lead and try the system out. James

I use white grease in a spray can to lube the cable. I try to do it 3-4 times a season.

Further note: Carry pipe wrench, for use after the weld fails? I would also worry about the fork failing, if it were wild. Clearly, every effort should be made towards balance.

I have used it, just for kicks, but it wasn't bumpy.
