Heading back to the US of A

Post by philiprmcgovern »

Ahoy, Sam and Gang:

In the morning s/v Sunshine will set sail from Isla Mujeres bound for Key West and, then, on up to Westland Marina at Titusville. Margaret and I have had a great three years in Central America but, now, it's time for some serious clean up, paint up, fix up at Westland's boatyard. We hope to see some of you on our way up the coast.

Best wishes and fair winds,

Phil McGovern

I thought that might be the case. Do you ever come back to Melbourne? We'd like to see you guys.

Safe trip...We are interested in your path, we plan to follow the same route in a few years. BTW, my daughter just arrived in Isla Mujeres today :-)

Sam:

I may have spoken too soon. We left yesterday morning, went about 20 miles, turned around and were back on Isla by 9:00 last night. Both en gines crapped out, the captain got super seasick and we decided we weren't having fun, so we tucked our hulls between our legs and came back. On the way back,I finally got one engine to run, so that helped the return trip. We were also welcomed by 30 or so very active dolphins who stayed with for nearly an hour. I think they were welcoming us back. We'll look for you daughter, but there are LOTS of young folks here. I think it's the new Ft. Lauderdale.

We do need to get back to Indiana, so one of our options is to leave our little ship here and take an airship home. Nothing goes to weather like a 747. Stay tuned.
