Dinghy length
Dinghy length
We have a contract on a PDQ 36 in Florida and are trying to get our ducks in a row. She doesn't come with a dinghy so we are trying to decide what would work. Does anyone know what the approximate dimensions are between the hulls where the rear beam is on the 36. And any suggestions of size of dinghy including outboard that would fit. She is a 1993 model without the arch. Thanks.

Re: Dinghy length
The 10' (+\- 6") RIB with a Yamaha 15hp 2cycle seems to be the standard.
Re: Dinghy length
Thanks, that would be the size we prefer.

Re: Dinghy length
I have a 9.6' AB RIB w/ a 6 HP Yamaha 4-stroke on Main Event II. It is a very tight fit and requires care (and a seat cushion on the back of the engine) when raising or lowering it. I'd like to move up to a 15 HP Yamaha 4-stroke but the weight of the 6 seems a bit of a strain on the davits as is. The 15 HP 2-stroke may be the answer.
Re: Dinghy length
We have an Apex 9.5, rigid inflatable and it fits with a Yam 2 - 15 with no problems. We tried a 10.5, but it wouldn't fit. Good luck with the boat.

Re: Dinghy length
I have a 10' Porta-Bote that is really too long. I definitely cannot hoist it with the outboard attached. I'm looking at a 9'6" RIB and used a friend's for testing the fit - it was tight but it did fit.
