URGENT - Rudder replacement

Postby mckinnv » Tue Mar 07, 2017 4:57 pm

We lost a rudder today on the ICW in Florida. Anyone know where I can either get a new rudder made or does anyone have a spare rudder they are willing to sell.

Thanks
Mike

Any chance of recovering the original for repair?
Where on the ICW was it lost?

According to my records hull 36057 is a classic. PDQ rudders are different for classics and LRCs.

No, we weren't able to retrieve the rudder as we are not sure where it actually happened. We didn't notice any steerage problems at first as we were motoring straight. It wasn't until we were maneuvering the boat that we realized we had a problem. We are now on the hard at Westland Marina in Titusville. Yes, we are a PDQ36 Classic.

It looks like this inside. I believe the tube is 2-inch Sch 40 316 SS.

New rudders - thanks to Foss Foam Products in Williston, Florida.
Great job and speedy service.
