Sail slides- where to buy?

Post by makala »

We have a broken mainsail slide on our 1991 PDQ 36. It looks like its nylon... Any idea what size and where to buy?

Thanks,
Doug

Sailrite generally has the best prices. Search "slug," not slide. I like the ones with SS bails--they don't break, ever. To be sure, measure one, but I think they are 1/2".

Thanks Drew! What dimension of the slug do I measure? The width side to side (where mast is up/down)?

Just the diameter of the round part that slides up and down. It is a loose fit.

Sailkote helps them slide, as does and occasional track cleaning (douse the sliders in dish soap, hoist a few times, and then rinse out with a hose).

Thanks again Drew. I found the slug at Sailrite:

Nylon Internal Flat Slide 7/8"

The 7/8" measurement is the width of the slide since its a flat slide.

Doug
