History of hull 89

Postby myosys » Fri Mar 30, 2018 11:51 pm

Hi PDQers, does anyone know the history of PDQ 36 hull 89?

It was first known as "Tanah-Keeta", then "Driftin' Days", and finally "Jalapeno". I'm under contract now and hopefully nothing serious has happened to the boat in the past. (reposted to FB.)

Do a search on here for the name Tanah Keeta. You can get a sense of one of the previous owner's dedication to the boat.
Always employ a surveyor to check it out though; they look at it with a practiced eye and no emotion attached.

Thanks amytom, it appears that the 1st owner upgraded to a PDQ powercat. I've reached out to him.
As for the survey, I have multihull specialist Mike Firestone flying over from TX to do the survey. I hope that the bones on #89 are solid!

Ron McDaniel, the first owner, replied to me at the FB forum and asked me to post a few photos. The only areas of immediate concern (to my eye, as a non-surveyor) is the bridgedeck forward. There are two repairs, generally in the same location in from the hulls, that are not easily discernible to the naked eye.

I've posted the photos "as shot" by the camera. Then, I cranked up the contrast and microcontrast (1) and posted enhanced photos.

Has anyone done or seen similar repairs? During the actual survey, I'm hoping we can access the the other side of the hull.

Thanks in advance for any opinions and info!
