A/C for a PDQ36

Thinking of installing A/C as this winter's boat project. Any experience with
current installations would be appreciated...planning on running the system only
while dockside (no genset)

I personally installed a 16K btu MarineAir unit with heat on my 36, mounting it
under the port setee seat area. Tight fit. Do not make the same mistake as I did
by mounting the strainer/seawater pump for air conditioner under shelf in
forward port cabin closet. It is a nightmare to get to it to service the
strainer.

We fitted the Mermaid 16,000 btu unit. It's a lot cheaper than the factory unit
and after 2 years it is still working flawlessly. We have the heating option
which is worth it for the cool days in spring. We had Tim Stevens install it in
Annapolis but Weaver's appear to offer a cheaper installation.
