hi all,
looking at the rudder on a mainship the other day, i noticed a ground wire running from the tiller clamp on the rudder post to the engine ground. this got me thinking. i know we don't have any on hull 23. did pdq add these later? is there a reason why they didn't use them?

Hi !
To the best of my knowledge, there is no "bonding" system on the PDQ. Each underwater metal component has it's own zinc so no bonding system is required. In boats like the Mainship they use bronz thru hull fittings that use another zinc somewhere else (thru the bonding wire) for protection. No bonding system is really a better system as many boats have gone under by lightening strikes that have exited thru a bronz fitting!
