Water in Starboard Hull

Post by Tanah-Keeta »

I have been chasing a water leak in my starboard hull for a year. I assumed the worst and viewed the shaft seal at all rpms ... no leak... checked the rudder post... no leak.. checked the A/C drain and it was connected to a thru hull..

Finally I ran the shower and flipped the shower sump pump on and found water going into the bilge. I have the separate shower. The exit hose from the gulper pump in the bilge curves up behind the sink and makes a loop back down to the thru hull. The extra length to make the loop extended between the shower and salon fiberglass sections and was literally crushed. It cracked and allowed shower water to flow back into the bilge.

If anyone has water from a source they can not identify in the starboard bilge... you may want to look at this hose
