salon window screen removal
I need to replace the screen that covers the large sliding window on the salon port side. Do I have to take out all 20+ screws and remove the entire window assembly, or is there an easier way?

hi bill,
i did this a couple of years ago. no, you do not need to remove screws or do any disassembly of frame. as i recall you remove the plastic "u-channel" strips, top & bottom, which are between the screen and the channels that the screen slides in. once they are remove you can wiggle the screen out, but it is tight. once out it's just like redoing a screen door.

John, would your instructions also apply to gaining access to the fixed window? I need to install a new window latch on the window next to the helm in the salon. I think I need to remove the sliding window to get to the front edge of the fixed window where the latch attaches.
