Webasto Heating System Thermostats

Post by AMCarter3 »

We have a Webasto heating system on our 2006 Powercat. There are 3 heat only "Simple Comfort 1600" thermostats – Salon & both berths. The Head thermostat is a smaller vertical LuxPro (no model# visible). All but the salon thermostat are really quirky. Despite fresh AA batteries, sometimes they work fine; sometimes not at all; sometimes they work only if you "play" with the On/Off switch or the Up/Down temp setting switch; sometimes the temp setting Up/Down buttons seem stuck and you cannot change the setting; etc.

I suspect aging issues: 1) the switch contacts maybe corroded; and 2) the temp sensor may not be functioning correctly. I've tried cleaning the contacts. Any experience /advice on these thermostats? Should I replace them? Same model? Different brand / model? Do they need to be special the marine environment? Or can I just order a standard Simple Comfort 1600L off Amazon.com: <http://amzn.to/2oF2TI0>

Or, has anyone tried a AUBE 135 thermostat <http://amzn.to/2oF8kH1> instead of a Simple Comfort 1600L?

Does anyone else have the LuxPro model in your Head? Do you know the exact model #?
