Cost to repaint?

Post by Spoff4 »

We are looking for a reality check regarding the price to repaint Tampa Girl.
The estimate we received was $8,000 to prime and paint the top sides and reapply non-skid. An additional $12,000 to repaint the hulls light blue.
Anyone have any information on the cost to repaint, or a recommendation for a yard in Florida for a paint job?
Thanks.

The cost of repainting the deck of a 34 would depend on the quality of the work and how the job is preformed. Will the deck hardware be removed and reinstalled with propper bedding, or just taped off? What method of non skid will be used for good service and looks? Will the substrate be prepped propperly to prevent blistering and peeling? What primer and paint are to be used? Etc..
The $ 8,000 quote would be a bargain for a quality job, and high for a shoddy job that would look rough and cause problems down the road.

Thanks James.
The price for the deck was two coats of primer, new non-skid and 2 coats of paint. Deck hardware would be taped because the bedding is sound. Above deck hardware would be removed and reinstalled. The individual has a great reputation for meticulous work.
