Gusto came out of Irma without a scratch in St Petersburg thanks to Irma cutting to the east after it clobbered Naples. We are blessed and humbled that we came out OK but feel for the folks that took the brunt of the storm as well as the flooding after Irma passed. We are helping them through our church as much as we can.

The worst (or maybe the best) thing that happened to Gusto was that the 11 year old leaky bimini top kinda fell apart when we took it down. We’ll have to replace it. We’re thinking of a “Hard-to-Top” (www.hardtotop.com) very light weight hard top that will secure to the bimini bows. Is anyone familiar with the Hard-to-Top product? Good or bad reports? One of the cool features is that the top can be configured to collect water. Nice in the Bahamas.

I posted a reply about a half hour ago but it must not have sent. I'll try it again. Gusto made it through Irma without a scratch in her slip in St Petersburg. When we evacuated, Irma was heading straight for St Pete. The fact that Irma jogged a little to the right after it clobbered Naples saved us. We are humbled and feel for the poor souls that were in Irma's path. We are helping them as much as we can through our church.

Tampa Girl is at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club's new floating concrete marina and suffered no damage.
Anita and I can now truthfully say that we rode out Hurricane Irma on a 34' PDQ power cat!

Not all that impressive (or reckless), because the PDQ that we actually were on when Irma hit Florida was Mac and Penny's All Heart in the San Juan Islands.
