hi mike,

we have zf25 on duetto (hull 23). these definitely use atf. i'm surprised that you don't have zf25.

My Yanmar experts advise using Chevron MD-3 transmission oil and change it every other year.

mike,

if you pull the dipstick out of trans i think atf vs 30W will be obvious. atf is usually red vs the gold of motor oil.

Any suggestions on where to find rear seals for the Kanzaki / KBW2 transmission? My rear seal is leaking on MV32 hull#5 "Gratitude." I'm told Yanmar no longer supplies parts for Kanzaki. Thanks

Hi Harold - you might try Ben at Mastry Engine Center 727-522-9471. He's been good at tracking down odd-ball stuff for me in the past.

Try Jimmey Wilson, CJ Marine Propulsion Services in Fort Pierce, 772-801-1771. He was recommended by Shearwater Marine (Yanmar) in Stuart for a rebuild of one of our ZF 25s that was leaking.
