Switches on 120 volt panel

Post by sailkane »

There are two black switches unmarked under the parallel a&b breaker any idea what they are for?

On our 34' 2006 #83, the two switches are labeled panel lights. They seem to only illuminate the meters. We never use them since the meters are very visible at night with the cabin lights on.

On Vita Bella (hull 114), the switches illuminate the entire panels with red light. Handy but don’t forget to turn them off!

The two switches on our boat also illuminate the backlight for the wording. We didn't realize that because we turn on the overhead lights if we want to use the distribution panel, so we never used these switches. Nice touch by PDQ. The lights aren't illuminated unless we specifically want or need them, thus saving electricity. These are truly great well engineered and thought out boats.
