Would like to hear some discussion as to some pros and cons of the two subject
cats. Use will be coastal cruising here on the east coast and great lakes

Tks Rick

Hi Rick: I own "Mojo" a 2000 36 hull #78. Being a broker I had the oportunity to
sell a Victory 35 last year, the boat was "Bella Luna", now named "Mon Ami" and
based at Marsh Harbour Marina in The Abacos. I also had the opportunity for the
new owner to follow us off-shore from Beaufort, NC to Man O War Cay, Bahamas

The Victory is a very solid built catamaran, built by Endeavor at that time

Inside and outside is a very high quality "yacht finish". Great amenities and
use of interior space. It is also twice the displacement of a PDQ 36, in other
words ...slow, but very stable. The self tending jib is not very performance
oriented although easy to tack. We were in very heavy stuff for 3 of the 4 days
and the Victory came right through, we did spend a lot of time before darkness
waiting for the boat to catch up. The people that bought the Victory love the
boat and plan to cruise on down to the BVIs this fall. Again, a good off shore
platform but way down on performance compared to the PDQ 36. The single Yanmar
dsl engine with a Sonic Drive leg leaves a lot to be desired in manuvering the
boat in close quarters. Hope this helps . Best/Jack

I think you will find lots of praise of PDQs here, but probably no experience on
Victory boats. This forum is pretty much for PDQ owners to exchange tips, etc

A suggestion I would make is to possibly check out the forum at
http://www.themultihull.com/forum/ ... there is more discussion relating to
other boats

Since we all own PDQ's it would un realistic to try to tell you any thing about
the Victory. As an owner of a 32 for 6 years I would be willing to answere any
questions about the boat. They are high quality boats that owners seem to keep
for a long time. You can see from the site that people are searching for used
ones and finding them hard to get. The newer ones have a taller mast creating a
fractional rig and a larger main. Ours has been to Florida one winter and to the
Bahamas twice. Nothing on the boat has broken and we have had great service from
her

I think you need to ask the questions that are on your mind

Have you been out on one? Have you been out on a victory?
