Leather-Like Upholstery Material

Posted by Roger on January 20, 2004 at 06:07:00:

We're looking for upholstery material for the salon. Specifically, we're looking
for a "leather-like" material. We don't want a "brushed" suede type material

We're looking for the polished faux leather material. Has anyone used this or
can recommend some products?
Thanks!
s/v Kokomo

I THINK YOU MAY BE LOOKING FOR "ULTRA SUEDE" I WAS JUST AT THE TORONTO BOAT SHOW
AND SAW SOME BOATS WITH IT--LOOKED GREAT--WE WENT TO LOOK AT INTERIORS AS WE ARE
ALSO ABOUT TO RE DO THE SALON--THE ULTRA SUEDE IS VERY EXPENSIVE . ONE DEALER
TOLD ME UP TO $100 PER YARD .WE HAD TWO ESTIMATES ON OUR 32 AND BOTH PEOPLE SAID
WE NEEDED ABOUT 20 YARDS TO COVER CUSHIONS ON BOTH SIDES.HOPE THIS HELPS

I think there is ultra-leather, check the web. I believe Catalina uses something
like that. I'll have to ask Jeannie

I think naugahyde is a little too close to vinyl. We'll looking for something
like ultra-suede but with the finished look and not the brush finish.

Roger,
We used to use something called "Naugahyde". It may still be around
